Find out what we've been doing!

Stars and stripes for this travel brand

Kicking off 2017 as we mean to go on, we entertained at a fantastic USA themed corporate event in Portsmouth with some of our favourite American acts. This yearly awards ceremony brought all the staff from Affinion Travel together to celebrate a year of hard work with a good ol' American knees up.

The VIP experience began with a walk on the red carpet where guests were greeted by our fake paparazzi and celebrity interviewer who begged them to pose for the camera and hounded them with questions of 'tell us, are the rumours true' and 'which of this season's trends has inspired your catwalk look'.

Once inside the venue, our Native American hosts took guests' coats, Hooters girls offered champagne and bottles of beer, and our charming Usherette girls served canapes in traditional USA costumes. These characters later interacted with our bespoke American flag shaped LED photo frame, which offered guests a unique opportunity to pose for a picture.

The USA theme continued with our incredible Dolly Parton tribute act who sung throughout the drinks reception, and escorted Affinion's MD to the stage with her signature sass. And after the awards our Elvis Presley tribute kicked off the party with renditions of 'Hound Dog' and other loved classics.

Our high energy 1950s dance duet performed the 'Hand Jive' from Grease, to rapturous applause from party guests, as lookalikes Marilyn Monroe, Jack Sparrow, Britney Spears, Donald Trump and Ozzy Osborne mixed and mingled. And our cheeky cowgirl stilt walkers offered a hint of Wild West interacting with an inflatable catcus and steed!

Diner girl rollerskaters got the dancefloor started as our cheerleader pole dancer demonstrated amazing flexibility and strength on our freestanding pole platform.

The cherry on the cake was our bald eagle ice luge lit with red, blue and white lights, through which we poured flavoured vodkas - some guests certainly enjoyed this and came back more times than we could count!

Huge thanks to our photographers Alberto Baucis and Rebecca Honour who did an amazing job as always.  And a well done to event managers Abi and Sophie who kept every act to schedule, and finished feeling rather proud. Go team!

Jetsetting fire shows in Africa

Daze Entertainment has gone international, supplying performers to a brand new venue in Ghana's developing capital Accra which is fast becoming West Africa's 'place to be' for bars, hotels, restaurants and nightlife.  With only a few weeks to plan all the entertainment, source and make costumes, book staff in (during the busiest season of the year) and schedule flights for site visits, it was a lot to turn around quickly.

During December our team of performers touched down in 30 degree heat and got straight to work performing risk assessments, organising fuel for their shows, and attending photo shoots for all the launch media. It was a hectic week of early starts, late finishes and learning curves, but it was worth it in the end as the venue landed a double page spread in The Sunday Times, featuring none other than our beautiful fire girls.

Kudos to our team who are still out in Ghana performing fire shows at Carbon, enjoying the sunshine, seeing the sights and making friends with the locals. And what a pleasure to work with all the staff at the venue who have made our girls so welcome and appreciated. #thisiscarbon

Welcome to the Moulin Rouge

It's been months in the planning, with all kinds of rigging challenges, complicated choreography, rehearsals and costume preparation, so it was hugely satisfying to watch all our hard work come together for Solent Forts' run of amazing Christmas corporate parties.

Guests arrived to the marina at Gunwharf Quays and were escorted to the Fort by boat, where Parisian showgirls and Can Can hostesses welcomed them with a glass of bubbly and a photo opportunity.

The singing trio set the scene whilst our aerial bartender topped up guests' glasses as she hung upside down from her hoop.

Guests were treated to a tour of the iconic building before kicking off the festivities with a high-energy Can Can show and a dynamic aerial hoop performance, all in the traditional French style, for that all important nod to the Moulin Rouge.

Then after a four course a la carte meal partygoers were ushered into the intimate Cabaret Bar for more music from the singing trio and an impromptu pole performance from our aerialist, who simply couldn't resist having a freestyle before encouraging guests to have a go too.

A huge thank you to Michael Palmer for the fabulous photographs, as well as to our team of choreographers, performers, costumiers, riggers, musicians and event managers who pulled together to make this project such a success. A Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all.
